DORA KOKOLJ

Dora Kokolj was born in Zagreb in 1989. After graduating from high school, she completed her MA study of Art History and Pedagogy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. In 2011 she started her education at Skopje Dance Academy in Skopje, Macedonia, where she had the oportuniti to collaborate with many foreign teachers and choreographers. During her studies at the dance academy, she performed for the school's associate company, Skopje Dance Theater, where she  gained performance experience and had the chance to collaborate with choreographers. At the academy, she also started teaching ballet and contemporary dance classes to students of various ages.

After completing her BA in Contemporary Dance, she returned to Zagreb and continued her professional work in performing arts through collaborations with the Shadow Casters, the Liberdance Dance Ensemble, Ekscena, Zagreb Dance Center, Dance Company &M, other independent choreographers, and through her own work. In Zagreb, she also continued her teaching work in several studios (DanzArt, Andrea's Room Center, Fusion, Reformer +), where she teaches classical ballet, &ballet, modern and contemporary dance, Pilates (soon certified STOTT PILATES instructor) and movement stimulation (at the SUVAG Kindergarten) for children and adults of different ages and levels of skill and knowledge. Since 2019 she is a member of the Croatian Freelance Artists Assosiation.

She is one of the founders of the art collective de.not (https://www.facebook.com/de.not.art/) - a young collective gathered around the desire to create in the field of contemporary dance and theater. Her own work within de.not includes choreography, performance and project productions  such as The Error Exchange (2016), | de.finity | (2017), Fake A Mistake (2018), and The Error Exchange 2.019 (2019).
